Love is the passionate and abiding desire on the part of two or more people to produce together conditions under which each can be and spontaneously express his real self; to produce together an intellectual soil and an emotional climate in which each can flourish, far superior to what either could achieve alone.

Love is a verb. We can’t say it enough. Love must not only be spoken, but must also be shown. The beginning of love is God. He showed his love in the most sacrificial of ways so we could know our incredible value to him. The price of our adoption was the emptying of heaven of its greatest treasure, God the Son, who is our Savior. ~ Phil Ware

Love is a fabric that never fades no matter how often it is washed in the water of adversity and grief.

Love is not the absence of emotion, but the whole summation of feeling. ~ The Dark Side of the Light

Love is everything. It is the sharing of songs and of silences and the holding of memories only the heart can see. It is the flame from which we light the torch of life ... a kind of nourishment we embrace in the quiet of our souls. Love exists in many forms and its touch shapes us into the people we become. In its infinite layers, love is the very strength upon which we live and breathe, hope and dream. When we pause to reflect upon the many chapters of our lives, we find that our most cherished memories are born of the heart ... be it the love we learned from our parents or the love we give our children ... the lessons learned through heartache or the magical encounter of a soul mate ... whether we're dreaming of love, newly in love, or deeply committed ... the telling of our story becomes an important piece to our living. For in the telling, we discover radiant truths about who we are and all that we are destined to be.

What is love? Alright, you know how when you’re listening to music from another room and you’re singing along, because it’s a tune you really love? When the door closes, or the train passes, and you can’t hear the music anymore but you sing along anyway, then no matter how much time passes, when you heart the music again, you’re still in the exact time. That’s what it’s like. ~ “Music From Another Room”

To me, love means looking at someone and realizing you could spend the rest of your life with them. Knowing that you could get through everything and anything as long as you have that special person by your side. Sure, I have come close … I’ve been with guys that made me feel I could be with them for a long time, but not forever. I guess what I’m saying is that I’ve only caught a slight glimpse of love, but boy, I cannot wait till I can finally see the whole picture.

Everyone admits that love is wonderful and necessary, yet no one agrees on just what it is. ~ Diane Ackerman

I'll tell you what real love is. It is blind devotion, unquestioning self-humiliation, utter submission, trust and belief against yourself and against the whole world, giving up your whole heart and soul to smitter. ~ Charles Dickens

Love is a fire. But whether it is going to warm your hearth or burn down your house, you can never tell. ~ Joan Crawford

Love is the extra effort we make in our dealings with those whom we do not like and once you understand that, you understand all. This idea that love overtakes you is nonsense. This is but a polite manifestation of sex. To love another you have to undertake some fragment of their destiny. ~ Quentin Crisp

Love is too strong a word to say it too early, but is has too beautiful a meaning to say it too late.

You know you’re in love when you can say anything to the person and you know they won’t laugh at you. When you can see their face when you close your eyes. When you can still feel their arms around you, holding you, long after they are gone. When you can still taste their kiss after you have said good-bye. You can tell you’re in love when you miss them before they are gone, when their voice lingers in your ears, when their presence eases any pain, when their name sends chills down your spine, when they are the only thing you can think about. You know you’re in love when you can see all their hopes and dreams and their soul when you look into their eyes. When they call you at four in the morning and say, “I love you”, and mean it. When your tears stain not only their shirt, but also their heart. When they are hurt just because of these tears. When even a simple chore done with them can become a lasting memory. Ultimately, you know you’re n love when you can’t imagine living without them, and can’t figure how you did it before you knew them. When they fulfill every need and without them, you are incomplete. The love of someone else completes the heart, and soul, and mind all at once.

True love is when you have to watch a friend leave with the knowledge that you might never see him again. But you know he’ll be in your mind and heart forever.

Love is knowing you want to spend the rest of your life with someone and not knowing if they want to spend it with you.

Love is a choice you make from moment to moment. ~ Barbara DeAngelis

I think I love him and love is needing someone. Love is putting up with someone’s bad qualities because somehow they complete you.

I'll tell you what real love is. It's blind devotion, unquestioning self humiliation, utter submission, trust and belief against yourself and against the whole world -- giving up your whole heart and soul to another.

You know you’re in love when you want to tell everyone about it, even though they haven’t asked.

Love is the voice under all silences, the hope which has no opposite in fear, and the strength so strong that mere force is feebleness. It is the truth more lasting than a star, and more first than the sun.

Love makes us all a little weaker, but in the end, we all turn out a little stronger.

So this is love … as demanding and nourishing and as difficult as it can be, and as strong and as wise as it makes you become. There are rewards for staying when you would rather leave. And so you let love come perch upon your shoulder and you do not turn away. ~ Nike

Love doesn’t always look like a picture perfect storybook. Ah, but sometimes it’s does. ~ Rascal Flatts

Love is always a good thing no matter how much it hurts. Even after it’s over, even through the pain … anyone who has ever really loved will tell you that they never regretted a second of it, no matter how much it hurt in the end. And if you tell me differently, I will tell you that you were not truly in love. ~ April Nizlek

Love is living your own life but sharing it. Love is forgiveness; it’s making a million mistakes and turning them into learning experiences. Love is patience, optimism and sometimes it’s a kiss when there is nothing left to say.

Love is friendship. Friendship is trust. Trust is courage. And courage is the strength to say good-bye when you’d rather stay.

Amy: Maybe love’s like math. You don’t get better at it but you just get used to it. Simple equations with the occasional variable.

Love is the most unpredictable of things. It can both lift and destroy your heart in an instant. ~ K. Braun

Isn’t that the definition of love anyway? It’s obsessive, right? It’s not safe, it’s real and it’s raw. ~ Life as We Know It

Love is, perhaps, the only glimpse we are permitted of eternity. ~ Helen Hayes

Love. It is the hardest habit to break and the craving most difficult to satisfy. ~ Drew Barrymore

It’s crazy. It’s like finding something you haven’t been looking for and have always wanted. There might be fireworks or harmony, but you just feel it without words or sparks. It can be a bumpy road and not always perfect, but in the end, love is worth the wait.
