music: Faith Hill -- "Love is a Sweet Thing"
mood: really tired and a little overwhelmed
Man ... what a day today has been. I couldn't fall asleep until after 5:00 this morning ... anxiety turned insomnia, I think. lol Oy. Didn't go to work till 10:30 this morning because at 7:30, after sleep for a little more than 2 hours, I was in no state to go to work. lol Luckily the people in my office are amazing.
I'd emailed Megan to let her know ... as she is always the first one in the office, so she'd let everyone else know. Well, turns out Megs had a Dr's appt this morning, so she didn't get in until after 9. All the rest of my bosses were worried about me because I'm "always so reliable". lol They're great.
So yeah, needless to say ... it's been quite the day. Worked till 11:45, got some lunch, and went to class till 3. Then went back to work until 5. Tomorrow I think I'm going to go in early and maybe stay a little late ... and then on Thurs, I will probably go in early as well. Last week I was sick on Tuesday and then I'm taking Friday off because I'm going home!!
And I won't be in at all next week ... so I could definitely use the money. Gotta make rent somehow!
In other news, I'm 99% sure Brandon and I have secured an apartment in Midvale. It's fabulous.
Just need to get the final details worked out and make sure we get approved through the complex and we'll be good to go!
AND
after the stress of this week is finally over, I am flying home on Friday morning!
As of 9:40am PST (I love Pacific Standard Time.
), I will be loving on the cutest boy in the universe! I'm really excited to go back to Oregon. It didn't occur to me until just recently that I really do LOVE the Pacific Northwest. For the last ... 8 years or so, all I could talk about was how I couldn't wait to get out of Oregon and see other places. Always said I wanted to live somewhere else and that I couldn't be happy never knowing if there was someplace better to be. Needless to say, after having traveled quite a bit and having lived for a month in Hawaii, a semester in England, and 2+ months in Utah (so far), I am definitely realizing how much I love the atmosphere and the landscape in the northwest. Not that I don't love it here ... and not that I don't think Utah is beautiful ... and I certainly wouldn't mind living here for a couple of years ... but there's no denying the special place in my heart that Oregon has. And even though I would never move back to Medford ... as there really is nothing for me there career-wise and life-wise, save for my family and my future in-laws ... there will always be a special place in my heart for my hometown. After all, it's the town where I graduated high school, where I met some of the best friends I'll ever know ... and, most importantly, where I fell in love.
It's kind of like McMinnville in that regard.
Never would I want to live in Mac permenately ... and even visiting isn't as good now that my best friends have graduated. But until the day I die, I will love that small little town in the middle of nowhere. lol I made a life for myself there ... and my family grew tenfold while I was there. ![]()
Anyway, enough of that.
I suppose I should get going ... get to the gym early tonight so I can be sure to have time for homework and SLEEP this evening!
Hope everyone is doing well!

Check it out.
My fiance is amazing! You're all jealous, I know. lol In the first picture, he's the third one back on the left, holding his waterproof hat. In the second one, he's the second guy back on the right ... all you can see is the side of him and his hat. ![]()

I'm so proud of him!

Just FYI, I am in the process of reworking/repaginating ALL of my quotes pages. There will be MANY more sections added within the next couple weeks, so keep checking back.
Specific sections that have been updated are listed on the quotes page as well.

music: Simple Plan -- "Perfect"
mood: Productive, a little cold though
God: It hurts because you feel it, Joan, because you’re alive. You love people. That generates a lot of power, a lot of energy, some kind of energy that binds atoms together. And we’ve all seen what happens when you try to pry them apart.
Joan: So if I don’t get attached to people, then it won’t hurt so much?
God: No. It’s in your nature to get attached to people. I put that in the recipe. It’s when you guys try to ignore that, when you try to go it alone. That’s when it gets ugly. It’s hell.

I had an amazing weekend. ![]()
So many good things happened!
The weather here has improved dramatically since last week. I did some homework outside on the front lawn again, which is a great thing to do. Then I fell asleep and took a nap in the sun.
That is an even greater thing to do. lol My freckles are starting to pop up and let's face it, freckles are endearing. ![]()
I read two books this weekend ... "Educating Esmé" (it's a diary of a first year teacher) and "Forever" by Judy Blume.
Alright, back to my homework.
