It’s great
that you can listen and be a shoulder to someone, but what about when
someone doesn’t need a shoulder? What if they need the arms or something
like that? You can’t just sit there and put everybody’s lives
head of yours and think that counts as love. You just can’t. You
have to do things.
Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Don't want behind me, I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend. And if you should ever go away, well then close your eyes and try to feel the way you do today. And if you can remember, keep smiling, keep shining ... knowing you can always count on me for sure. That's what friends are for. If you need a shoulder to cry on, or if you need a friend ... I'll be here standing, until the bitter end. We seek the comfort of another. Someone to share and share the life we choose. Someone to help us through the never-ending attempt to understand ourselves. And in the end, someone to comfort us along the way. ~ Marlin Finch Lupus Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our own wings have trouble remembering how to fly. Everyone needs a friend, so be kind and put on a smile to those whom you know need one. You know your friendship has withstood the tests of time, patience, and trust when you can pick up your conversation right where you left off ... no matter how long it's been. “I am your friend, and you are mine for always,” she said. “Such a friend as you I’ve never had before. I have had many dear and beloved friends, but there is a something in you that I have never found in anyone else. You have more to offer me in that rich nature of yours, and I have more to give you than I had in my careless girlhood. We are both women, and friends forever.” A friend will strengthen you with his prayers, bless you with his love,
and encourage you with his hope. The sound of a friend will be heart above the noise of life. A hug is worth a thousand words. A friend is worth more. ~ Jasmine
Fitzwilliam The real test of friendship is: can you literally do nothing with the other person? Can you enjoy together those moments of life that are utterly simple? They are the moments people look back on at the end of life and number as their most sacred experiences. ~ Eugene Kennedy It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson You should never second-guess the motives of your true friends. You don't even have to analyze their actions because you know, at bottom, that whatever they do or say or think flows in some fundamental way from the fact that they love you. ~ Star Jones And I'm sorry for the smiles we missed, the times that I blew it, I've got so much to tell you, I don’t know where to start, maybe I'll find a way, maybe you'll help me do it, cause friends like us should not be apart ... and I'm sorry to a friend. ~ Edwin McCain Friendship is a promise spoken only by the heart. It isn’t given by a pledge. It isn’t written on any paper. But friendship is a promise that is renewed every time two friends meet and smile and enjoy the good times that come from simply being together. It’s a promise to share both glad and sad times. A promise to think of each other fondly whether near or far apart. Friendship is a promise spoken only by the heart. A promise that you and I will always share. A friend is somebody you want to be around when you feel like being
by yourself. A friend's hand is always there. You just have to reach out for it. Because of you, I forgot the smart ways to lie. Because of you, I’m running out of reasons to cry. When the friends are gone, when the party’s over … we will still have each other. As we grow older things change, but they don't always have to end. Even though it is different now, you will always be my friend. You lifted me up when I could not lift myself; you made me smile when I forgot how to. You were there for me in my times of need and you were there for me when I needed nothing at all. ~ Rebecca Carbon You’ve got troubles, and I’ve got ‘em too |
