A friend is
someone you can be alone with and have nothing to do and not be able to
think of anything to say, and be comfortable in the silence. ~ Sheryl
Condie
I’d love to be the shoulder that you cry on, and I’d love to be the friend that you call when things are great. ~ Juliana Theory I don’t remember who met who first, or who liked who first. I just remember all of us being together, and I liked it like that. ~ St. Elmo’s Fire Always make time for your friends. Do you remember the first time we met? It seemed we came together in instant friendship. We somehow knew we could lean upon each other, depend upon one another. It seemed as though we had always been friends. We’ve helped each other through times that we never thought we could endure. And for as long as I live, you will always hold a place inside of me. Friends seem to be like aspirin: we don’t really know why they make a sick person feel better, but they do. ~ Letty Cottin Maybe there aren’t any such thing as good friends or bad friends – maybe there are just friends, people who stand by you when you’re hurt and help you feel not so lonely. Maybe they’re always worth being scared for, and hoping for, and living for. Maybe worth dying for too, if that’s what has to be. No good friends. No bad friends. Only people you want, need to be with you; people who build their houses in your heart. ~ Stephen King You can always tell a real friend: when you’ve made a fool of yourself, he doesn’t feel you’ve done a permanent job. ~ Laurence J. Peter Sometimes we need to walk back over routes we’ve already traveled to help someone cross a path we’ve crossed before. ~ Small Miracles Back then it meant so much to have you by my side, I always had your back and you always had mine. ~ Good Charlotte To all my true friends: fights may break us apart, distances may cause us not to talk … but there is absolutely nothing that I would not do for any of you. We will always be together in our hearts. Be slow to give your friendship, but when you have given it, strive to make it lasting. Every now and then we find a special friend who never lets us down … who understands it all … reaches out each time we fall. You’re the best that I have found. I know you can’t stay, but part of you will never ever go away. Your heart will stay. I’ll make a wish for you and hope it will come true, that life will be kind to such a gentle mind, and if you lose your way, think back on yesterday … remember me this way. ~ Jordan Hill, “Remember Me This Way” Friendship isn’t just about talking about guys, keeping secrets and makeup … friendship is about two people, connected at their heart … people who cannot live without each other. Friendship is forever. A true friend is a person who is there for you through thick and thin. They don’t judge you by the clothes you wear, or the size of your house. They love you no matter what. They are a shoulder to cry on, or a partner to laugh with. They stand by you in your times of need and listen when you are excited. They know every little thing about you. They stand up for you when others don’t. Being a friend is easy when times are good or when you benefit from the relationship. But a true friend sticks by your side even when things get tough. This is the kind of friend you desire. But to have one, this is also the kind of friend you must be. The pages may crumble, the pictures may fade, but we’ll never forget the friends that we’ve made. If you have two friends in your lifetime, you’re lucky. If you have one good friend, you’re more than lucky. Don’t let a little dispute ruin a great friendship. I can confide in you, and trust you with my mistakes and regrets. I can tell you things I’ve told no one else. And I know you will never judge me or tell my secrets. My only sketch of heaven is a large blue sky – larger than the biggest I have seen in June – and in it are my friends and lover, every one of them. ~ Emily Dickinson Two may talk together under the same roof for many years, yet never really meet; and two others at first speech are old friends. ~ Mary Catherwood Your real friends see the tears before they fall from your eyes. I have had many “best friends” walk in and out of my life, and I have been hurt many times by these “friends” … but each experience has made me stronger, a better person and friend. And now, I have finally found a group of people who I can consider my friends, my crew … with whom I don’t have to pretend to be someone I’m not and who accept me for me, and who, oddly enough, like me because of who I am. ~ Victoria Puglia Live your life so your friends can defend you, but never have to. ~ Arnold Glascow Some people have a large circle of friends while others have only friends that they like. Treat your friends as you do your pictures and place them in their best light. ~ Jennie Jerome Churchill |
